SHCC Disciplinary Process

The following staged approach is set out for SHCC Junior section disciplinary process following incidents where the Code of Conduct is broken. The Senior Disciplinary process is highlighted below and again related to the incidents that break the club’s Code of Conduct. This disciplinary process is aligned the Code of Conduct and Club Constitution.

Junior Disciplinary Process

Step 1: If a child repeatedly misbehaves or disrupts coaching sessions, matches and is not receptive to a coach asking him or her to desist, or breaks the Club’s Code of Conduct the coach will raise the matter with the child’s parents / guardians. This will be done verbally.

Step 2: If the poor behaviour continues again the Club’s Code of Conduct the child’s parent / guardian will be required to attend and supervise their child for the full duration of all sessions until the poor behaviour desists. This will be confirmed in the form of written notification where it will be explained that any further incidents against the Code of Conduct will lead to exclusion from the Club.

Step 3: If the poor behaviour continues following step 2 and further incidents occur that go against the Code of Conduct the child will be excluded from all sessions following confirmation by the Junior Committee. This will be confirmed in writing.

The timeframe for each stage will be determined on a case-by-case basis and communicated to the parents/guardians appropriately.

Senior Disciplinary Process

Step 1: If a player, coach, parent, supporter, visitor etc is deemed to go against the Club’s Code of Conduct this person should be informally warned on a verbal basis to desist from their behaviour. This can be done by, or through any member of the Senior and Junior Committee.

Step 2: If the poor behaviour continues against the Club’s Code of Conduct the person will be formally reprehended in writing and warned that future behavioural issues will lead to exclusion from the club.

Step 3: If the poor behaviour continues following step 2 and further incidents occur that go against the Code of Conduct the person will be excluded from the club following confirmation by the Committee. This will also be confirmed formally in writing.

The timeframe for each stage will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Committee and communicated to the person(s) affected.
