Seaham Harbour Cricket Club Code of Conduct
We are a family-orientated club, where one of our aims is to promote and develop positive, professional relationships in the world of cricket. We also aim to provide a safe, friendly environment for juniors to develop their skills, where good practice is at the heart of what we do. All Members and Guests of this Cricket Club will expect to follow the below:
- Coaches, players, members, parents of junior players and volunteers are positive role models for others, at both home and away games
- Not condone, or allow to go unchallenged, any form of discrimination if witnessed.
- Please remember that you are representing the club – the impression you leave can also be the impression made of the club as a whole
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person within the context of cricket
- Treat everyone equally and not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or marital status, religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief. Any instances of discriminatory abuse will not be tolerated.
- Please be mindful of language used when juniors are present. Swearing will not be tolerated by juniors.
- Acts of aggression will not be tolerated
- Illegal substance use will not be tolerated within the club
- Treat individuals with dignity and respect
- Respect the grounds of the cricket club, both indoors and outdoors. Wreckless use of club equipment will not be tolerated.
- Children under age of 11 need to be supervised at ALL times.
- Display high standards of behaviour.
- Not provide children with alcohol when they are under the care of the Club.
- Follow ECB guidelines set out in the “Safe Hands – Cricket’s Policy for Safeguarding Children” and any other relevant guidelines issued
- Report any concerns in relation to a child, following reporting procedures laid down by the ECB.
- Bikes, scooters, ride-on’s etc are not permitted to be used within the grounds.
- No ball games are to be played within the ground with the exception of the area behind the nets.
- Children under the age of 11 should be supervised at all times for their own safety. The club are not responsible for the safety of children during cricket matches.
- Any photography or video use must be carried out in line with ECB Photography and Video Camera Guidance that is available on the clubs notice board and the clubs website.
If a breach of the provisions or principles of this Code occurs or is reasonably suspected to have occurred the Club reserves the right to take such action as set out in the Disciplinary Process.
Any disciplinary or complaint hearings in connection with a breach of these rules shall be dealt with in accordance with the disciplinary procedure as set out in the Club constitution.
